They'll be a changin'...

g
I know, I know!! A couple posts back I wrote about how I was slacking in the writing department, and how my poor neglected blog was put to the back burner. You thought it would get better, didn't you?

I'm trying......!!!!!

Anyway, this past weekend was really special to us because my youngest brother tied the knot. It was a fantastic day all around and I am so lucky to get another sister-in-law!! Except for the moment when Gray decided to have a temper tantrum while the vows were being said....which seems to be happening a whole lot lately (tantrums-not the vows!). But the wedding was a nice break from everything that has been going on. The amount of things that have been running through my brain is unreal. Add in the hormones and a whole lot of stress...swamp water is-a brewing!Although I would much rather have a Pina Coloda!  Either way changes are coming and I am not sure what will happen...

But on a happier note; some beautiful pictures!

Decor Dreams

h
So after months of planning and searching the internet for inspiration...which was all I could manage to do amongst my lack of motivation and serious tiredness...but here it is! The final design plan for my little boy's BIG BOY room!  I wanted something fun, bright and kinda grown up, as this will also be used as a guest bedroom when the adults get together to party! Of course, who knows what will happen, but I would love to do something like this...

I have always loved the idea of a chalkboard wall, and I think the black would be pretty cool against the soft blue (almost as pictured) that is in there now, yeah to not repainting!! The picture rail was an idea that I had awhile ago to put under this window turned shelf on the back wall of the 'now' computer room. It is awkward and sticks out like a sore thumb..so with photos and artwork on either side; might just make it blend in a bit. I love the scrapbooked feel of the photos pictured framed in white. Gray will definitely need some sort of storage for toys, and the one above is so cool and different! As for the big boy bed, I wanted a traditional but fun look, so I decided on this quilt from Sears.

I am undecided on curtains and rug or no rug? But other then that, I think we are all set to start redecorating! Although, moving Gray's room also creates a domino effect on a bunch of other things in the house...but I will cover that later!!

So now that I am over that '3 month' hump, I have my energy back and I am ready to tackle this!!

P.S. I would love to credit whoever posted these photos originally, but I have had them saved on my computer for ages and I have no idea where I got them. If you do...let me know so I can credit them!

Thankfulness

h
You know, I used to think that summer was my favourite time of the year. I liked the sun, the beach, the flowers, the smell of suntan lotion. We got married in July because to me, that was the perfect time of year.

Lately though, fall has become more and more appealing to me, maybe because of the beautiful colors that surround you in the autumn. I love all my flower beds, but in the fall they look absolutely stunning. The burnt oranges and bright purples, burgundy and pinks...so pretty! The fall leaves are breath taking as well, and watching Grayson throw them in the air and chase them around is so entertaining. The weather is perfect too. Not to cold and not to hot. I love wrapping up in a warm sweater in the cool months. It's much more comforting being bundled up then being dressed in barely nothing when it's so hot and humid out. Not only that, but fall is the kick off to great things, like Halloween! And let's not forget about Christmas, as I am already dreaming about possible decor ideas!

So its final, my favourite time of year is FALL! What better time of year to figure that out then at Thanksgiving...where I am so thankful for this life that I have with a wonderful 'growing' family and amazing friends!

I hope you all a wonderful long weekend with your loved ones too! Happy Thanksgiving!

Rough Week

g
Lucky Mike, what a tropper, he definitely gets the best dad award! So while he got a break from work last week, he did not get what he thought was a real break. Gray was sick all week. Cold, fever, snotty nose, cough, he would not nap at all during the day! He was needy, screaming and well, you get the drift...
So he got cuddled a lot! He did sleep at night though, no problem, as he was probably so tuckered out!
I was at work all week, so I couldn't even help. I felt awful listening to Gray screaming in the background while Mike and I tried to figure out what was wrong with him over the phone. In fact it broke my heart...I just wanted to hold him!

But a funny sidebar to the story are the following pictures:

He was so tired he just couldn't take it anymore! Fell asleep in the middle of lunch! We have a video, but for some reason its not uploading correctly, oh, if you could only hear his snores! So sweet!

He's feeling much better now, and he is napping for the babysitter, so we'll see what this weekend brings!

Dear Blog

v
Dearest Blog,

I am so sorry that you have been left all alone, left to your own thoughts and worries the last few weeks. I have been an unforgivable blogger who much to the dismay of some, has taken to early bedtimes and napping on the couch. My tiredness has left you to fend for yourself, but you were in the back of my mind the whole time, I swear! I was thinking one day I would have a really good story to tell you ...one day...well, here I am, although I do not have a really good story to tell you, I do have some really good pictures of some really good cards!

Take care and enjoy,
Lish
